EV charger installation in El Campello
A town where the distance between your meter and your parking space varies more than anywhere else we cover.
- 24/7 for genuine emergencies
- We tell you the call-out fee before we set off
- Typically on site in 60–90 minutes
El Campello runs several kilometres along the coast and climbs inland, and its properties range from seafront flats to villas on large plots.
That range makes the cable run the single biggest variable in what a charger costs here.
Why the cable run decides the price here
On a seafront flat with a communal garage, the supply and the parking space may be fifteen metres apart. On an inland plot, the meter can be at the road and the garage eighty metres away up a drive. The charger is identical. The installation is not, and the difference is frequently larger than the gap between two charger models.
The reason is voltage drop. A cable has to be sized so that the voltage at the far end stays within limits when the charger is drawing its full load continuously, and that requirement grows with length. A run four times longer does not need four times the copper, but it needs materially more, and on the longest runs here the conductor becomes the dominant cost of the whole job.
The second factor is what the cable has to pass through. A straight run through a garage on surface containment is quick. A run that crosses a garden, passes under a driveway, or has to be brought around the outside of a building is slower and needs protecting properly, because a buried cable laid without protection is the fault we come back to in five years.
Neither of these is visible in a photograph, which is why we will not quote this town remotely. A site visit takes twenty minutes and turns a range into a fixed figure, and on the longer runs it routinely changes the answer by more than the price of the charger itself.
What we typically find here
- Inland plots where the meter is at the road and the garage is a long way up the drive
- Cable runs crossing gardens and driveways that need real protection, not just conduit
- Seafront garages where the run is short but the containment route is shared
- Quotes given remotely that did not survive contact with the actual distance
Common questions
Why is my quote higher than my neighbour paid?
Almost always the cable run. Conductor size is set by the voltage drop over the whole distance at full load, so a garage eighty metres from the meter needs substantially more cable than one fifteen metres away, for exactly the same charger.
Can you quote from photographs?
Not in this town. The distance from supply to parking space varies too much here, and it is the single biggest cost driver. A twenty-minute visit turns a range into a fixed figure that does not move afterwards.

What an EV Charger Installation Really Costs
The charger is rarely the expensive part. Four other things are, and none of them are visible in a photograph.

7.4, 11 or 22 kW - Which Charger Do You Need?
The honest answer for most homes is the cheapest one, and the reason is your car rather than the wallbox.
