Electrician in Villajoyosa
The painted houses of the old town, the seafront, and urbanisations climbing the hills behind — the furthest north we go, and the most varied.
- 24/7 for genuine emergencies

- Typically on site in 60–90 minutes
Villajoyosa, or La Vila Joiosa, is the northern limit of the area we cover. Its old town is the famous stretch of painted houses right against the sea: narrow streets, buildings sharing party walls, and installations that have been added to over a very long time.
Behind and above it, the town climbs into urbanisations on sloping ground, where plots are large and the distances between the meter and where the electricity is actually needed get long. Between the two sits the newer seafront and the town proper.
Working in the old town
The painted houses are the reason people know Villajoyosa, and they are the hardest place we work. The streets are narrow and often not accessible by vehicle, buildings share walls and risers, and the electrical installation in any given house has usually been extended in stages across decades by different hands.
The practical consequence is that fault-finding takes longer here than anywhere else we cover. Circuits do not always respect the boundaries you would expect, cable routes go where the structure allowed rather than where they should, and the labelling on a board is frequently a record of what was true two owners ago. We price the work, and we tell you when the diagnosis is going to be the slow part.
Access also affects an emergency call-out genuinely rather than nominally. Getting equipment to a house in the old town is not the same as parking outside a villa, and we factor that into the time we give you on the phone.
Hillside plots and the distance problem
The urbanisations on the slopes behind the town have the longest supply runs we deal with. A meter at the road and a house set well back or well above it means a substantial distance, and everything downstream has to be sized for the voltage drop over that length rather than for the load alone.
This is the single most useful thing to understand before asking for a price on a car charger here. The same charger that is a short job on a flat plot becomes a materially bigger one when the cable has to travel eighty metres uphill, and the difference is in conductor size and installation, not in the equipment. It is also why we will not quote this town from a photograph under any circumstances.
Sloping ground brings a second issue: water. Runoff after the autumn storms finds its way into chambers, junction boxes and anything buried without proper protection, and a good share of our post-storm calls here are exactly that.
The seafront
Directly on the front, the salt exposure is as severe as anywhere we work, and the same rules apply as at Playa de San Juan and Muchavista: mounting position determines the life of outdoor equipment more than the brand does, clearance and shelter matter, and rinsing a condenser coil with fresh water through the season is the cheapest maintenance there is.
The seafront blocks also mean communal garages and the usual charging question, where the decision that matters is how the point is metered rather than which charger goes on the wall.
Common questions
Do you actually cover Villajoyosa, or only as far as El Campello?
We cover Villajoyosa. It is the northern limit of our area, so in an emergency it sits at the longer end of the 60 to 90 minute window rather than the short end, and we tell you the realistic figure when you call.
Why does a car charger cost more at my hillside property?
Because the cable has to be sized for the voltage drop over the whole run, not just for the load. A meter at the road and a house eighty metres uphill needs a heavier conductor than the same charger on a flat plot, and that difference is usually bigger than the price gap between charger models.
Can you work in the old town, given the access?
Yes. It is slower than anywhere else we work — narrow streets, shared risers and installations extended in stages over decades — so fault-finding takes longer. We tell you when the diagnosis rather than the repair is going to be the bulk of the job.
Everything failed after the autumn storms. Is that normal here?
On sloping ground, unfortunately yes. Runoff gets into chambers, junction boxes and inadequately protected buried cable, and post-storm calls are a recognisable seasonal pattern in the hillside urbanisations rather than bad luck.
